Welcome to Great White Shark Tours first blog post. Today we launched at 10 am with a fresh southerly wind with a slight swell, other than that it's been a beautiful day so far. 

Today also we are privileged to have Mr South Africa 2019 Heinrich Gabler and Mr South Africa 2017 Brendt Wayne joining us on our tour. 

Along with the 32 other passengers, we left Kleinbaai Harbour. The trip to the dive spot known as Joubert se dam takes approximately 10 minutes. 

We dropped the anchor and cage and started the chumming process, this is a mixture of fish products. After our briefing ended we were greeted with 5 Bronze Whaler sharks, otherwise known as Copper Sharks, which put on a spectacular show for us. These guys are up and down the cage constantly from start to finish. 

About an hour into the trip we got our first Great White Shark, which was a 3.5m female shark. Unfortunately, she didn't come very close to the cage until a bit later in the trip. After a while, she became very active and jumping for the bait every so often. There were ample opportunities for photos from the boat. A while later we were lucky enough to get another 2 Great White sharks, a female of 3m and another female of 4m.

Unfortunately, the visibility wasn't too great today, due to the rough weather the last few days which has churned up the sand bottom. All in all, we had a brilliant day with the Great Whites and Copper Sharks. 

Heinrich and Brendt made their way into the 2nd cage and were greeted with the first Great White of the day. They seemed to really enjoy the experience.

Around 12:40 we headed back to the harbour.

Total sharks for the day were 3 Great Whites and around 20 Bronze Whalers/Copper Sharks.

All in all, we had a really good trip today with loads of action.
